COVID-19 and sustainable development goals (SDGs): An appraisal of the emanating effects in Nigeria

The paper appraised the emanating effect of COVID-19 on sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Nigeria through systematic illustration prevailing incidents. It was affirmed that preoccupation with cases caused many other critical socioeconomic issues (like education, infrastructure development, and employment) to suffer a state negligence or be overlooked. Like developing countries, could become poorer, given increased unemployment rate anticipated difficulty servicing debt resulting from outbreak. Hence, festering challenges including poverty, limited access health care, low education quality, poor road networks among others, further entrenched. These incidents detrimental 2030 agenda. current crisis, therefore, poses threat Nigeria’s prospects, as it may take more time recover, especially post-COVID-19 era. Thus, is recognize significance securing strong institutional regulatory setup resources (including financial material resources) needed facilitate change economy.
